The Battle of Saratoga, known as "the turning point of the American
Revolution” and ranked among the fifteen most decisive battles in
world history, took place in Saratoga County. Here in 1777 American
forces met, defeated and forced a major British army to surrender.
Today Saratoga National Historical Park is open year-round and is
located on the beautiful upper Hudson River.
Saratoga Springs is perhaps best known for its horse racing, which
runs from late July through Labor Day. Visitors can start the day
with a trackside breakfast in the morning sun, a behind-the-scenes
tour of the backstretch and then spend an exciting afternoon at the
oldest and most beautiful
Thoroughbred race course in the nation.
Located in the beautiful Saratoga Spa State Park, the
Saratoga
Performing Arts Center is home to the New York City Ballet for three
weeks in July and the Philadelphia Orchestra during the month of
August. SPAC also hosts some of the most popular performers in the
country at rock and pop concerts - all this under the spectacular
backdrop and scenery of the 2,100 acre
Saratoga Spa State
Park.
While at the Spa Park, explore the
Saratoga Automobile Museum, the
National Museum of Dance, the championship
Saratoga Spa Golf Course
and the Roosevelt Baths and Spa.

white water rafting and skydiving are just some of the activities
