Meeting the Structural Challenge

McFarland-Johnson’s Structural Department provides a broad range of structural, foundation and geotechnical engineering services. Our clientele includes: architects, engineers, industrial and commercial firms, developers, contractors, local, state and federal governments, and various other agencies and individuals representing both the public and private sectors of the economy.

We provide structural engineering services for a wide range
of facilities such as industrial, educational, religious, and water and wastewater treatment plants. Our expertise includes work on projects such as office and commercial buildings, government facilities, manufacturing plants, bridges, academic buildings, towers/antennae, residences, as well as renovation and restoration of existing buildings.

Our goal is to provide sound structural designs consistent with client budgets, and the general availability of materials and erection methods in a given geographical area. We present design alternatives for client selection that address not only the initial construction costs, but also, the future maintenance requirements. Building renovations often dictate upgrading existing structural components to meet current code requirements. Close interface is also required with other design professionals to ensure that the building structure will not interfere with other components such as mechanical equipment, ductwork, maintenance access, etc.
